The Worst Humanitarian Crisis in the World .

With the ongoing pandemic , it could result in Yemen , a country in the Middle East , to be wiped out from all the maps in the world . The nation has been war-struck for 5 years , starting from March 2015 , the Yemeni Civil War is a conflict between two coteries the Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi led Yemeni Government and the Houthi armed movement with a number of allies and supporters . From not having medical aid to a child dying every 10 minutes , the condition of the Arab country worsens everyday .

What is going on in Yemen?

As mentioned above , the war that is currently going on has contributed to the collapsing of the healthcare system. The country is now struggling with poverty and diseases. More than 24 million people need humanitarian aid to survive , out of which 50% are children. Humanitarian aid is help provided to save lives , lessen agony and to strengthen and have preparedness for such crisis.

The future of the country , the children are being killed , wounded and maimed. The war has left masses of children malnutritioned , and also with several diseases and injuries. Families are left distraught and wrecked with nothing to eat. In several parts of Yemen , households are forced to eat boiled leaves and sugar with water. The food emergency in the country is also alarming , making it the most severe in the world

The several years of war has disintegrated its infrastructure , exposed the residents to multiple disease waves and completely changed the face of the country.

Corona Virus and Yemen :

The Corona Virus had hit the country in April 2020 , and has displayed its devastating effects momentarily. Yemen is still at war , which has left thousands dead , and millions without healthcare , homes , proper sanitation and clean water , which are all requisite for fighting the pandemic. The raging conflict , too , makes it harder for the individuals to access facilities and basic needs. Even years before the virus hit it , United Nations had declare Yemen the most needy country in the world.

Huge number of children there suffer from acute malnourishment , causing brain damage or diseases. Even before the pandemic , about 2 million children had been deprived of education , but because of the pandemic , 7.8 million children have no access to school. This results in child marriage , child labour , forced into terrorist organisations , and robbing them of their futures . More than 1.7 million children have been forced to turn tail to their homes and reside in camps or other services.

The medics in the country do not have access to Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) kits , adding to this , there is a severe lack of medicines and also just a few hundred ventilators . Many doctors and sanitation workers themselves have either gotten infected or perished. Doctors have gotten depressed as they cannot provide proper treatment to the patients . Even reaching a clinic or hospital , proper sanitation , clean water , sanitizers and self-care products are considered opulence and luxurious.

The actual number of Corona -Virus cases is suspected to be hidden as there is no lucidity with the Government. This makes it harder to curb the situation and flatten the curve. There is also shortage of testing kits and medicines which makes it more complex.

The country is already struggling with diphtheria , malaria and cholera outbreaks , worst seen in decades . To fight this widespread , one needs to have suitable immunisation , a proper diet , exercise , nutrition , and the most important - willpower ; which most of the Yemeni population does not have. Their tenacity was shattered by years of war and seeing deaths all around them . Yemen has the lowest levels of immunity and the vulnerability to boutades at its highest. The continuous war , the lack of healthcare facilities , shortage of PPE kits and medicines , poverty , malnutrition , poor nutrition , unable to social distance or self isolate , low immunity , less or no willpower , millions of children starving has all contributed to making life harder to survive in the country .

Interviews With Recovered Covid-19 Patients : The Gravity of the Situation.

As an Indian ,  I have only seen people following curfews and lockdowns for the first 3-4 months. Some people are yet to understand the solemnity , the seriousness of the pandemic , and some overthink it. I'm here to clear exactly that. I conducted interviews with 3 individuals of different age groups , so as to determine that the virus affects everybody ; not just people of a certain age.  Though most teenagers nowadays think that the virus may not affect them , this discussion with 17-year old Ambarish Bakshi from Aurangabad proves them otherwise.    Blogger : Hello! So ,  Ambarish , when did you start experiencing symptoms? Ambarish : Hey . Approximately , 3-4 days before testing , and I started quarantining at the MIT Boys Hostel on 21st September till the 30th.  B : What were the symptoms you were enduring? If you had to rate the intensity of your symptoms from a scale of 1-10 , what would it be? A : I had a headache , a mild fever , had cough , and ...

Corona Virus and Lifestyle .

The first known case of the Novel Corona-virus was reported back in November 2019 . The epicenter of this global pandemic is in Wuhan , China . As of 2nd May 2020 , there are over 3,401,351 cases worldwide with close to 240,000 deaths. The corona virus can also remain in air in humid places which is why social distancing is important . SARS-CoV-2   Most lock-downs in the world began before the end of March. Ever since , life has been contained inside four walls and repetitive schedule. Though this gives a lot of families a chance to rekindle their bond , this has also affected financial stability. A lot of daily wage workers have lost their way of life and are robbed off their income . Even if most governments have provided financial support , this virus has definitely changed our lives forever   People having   lavish houses and luxurious cars but no one to invite them into , nowhere to drive them to . All the niceties seem so small now . At the end...
